The Langtang area is located north of Kathmandu Valley. The landscapes of this region are most spectacular and the treks of nature more adventurous. Fewer hikers visit this part of the country. To the west of Langtang is the Ganesh Himal mountain range offering a range of peaks from 6000 to 7000 meters and to the south, the region of Gosainkud and Helambu. By combining these areas in Langtang we can create treks lasting 7 to 21 days.
This territory was designated as the first Himalayan national park in Nepal in 1971. It is inhabited by Tamang and Sherpa whose religious practices and clothing are much more like those of Tibet than the traditions of their cousins in the middle hills . The forests of the region have temperate and subalpine vegetation. The fauna is composed of migratory birds, deer, monkeys, tahrs and pikas.
The best seasons for trekking in this area are spring and fall. Helambu and Langtang are well served by the lodges, unlike the more rustic areas of Ganesh Himal and Ganja la.
A trip to the Langtang Valley offers an opportunity to explore the villages of Tamang, climb small peaks and visit glaciers at a more comfortable altitude than other trekking areas. Located only 1 hour from Kathmandu, Sundarijal is one of the starting points offering the easiest and fastest access to the region of Helambu. Various other route options are also offered to us according to our itinerary.
Here you will find unforgettable memories and moments that will remain etched in your memory for all your life!
