The Dhudkunda trek is freshly opened in Nepal. It is from Phaplu that this trek starts. This trek introduces visitors to many spectacular views, rich culture and natural resources typical of the Solu-Khumbu region. Located at the foot of Numbur Himal, Lake Dhudkunda (Milky Lake) is considered by both Buddhists and Hindus to be a sacred lake. Locals believe that taking a bath in one’s holy waters will have the effect of Cleansing their souls. For this fact, this trek attracts many pilgrims every year.
The trail leads to the dense forests of rhododendrons and a variety of wildlife such as leopards, bears and pheasants. The hospitality of people of the Solu area will charm you and make it a most comforting experience. Your guide will give you very interesting information about this unique region, the culture and evolution of the Lake while letting you be swept away by the magnificent view of Everest and the surrounding Himalayas.
