Eastern Nepal is characterized by greater diversity on many accounts; ethnic groups such as the Rai and Limbu people, a prolific range of flora due to the higher summer rainfall in the region, and some of the most outstanding mountain vistas anywhere in the Himalaya. By following the glacial torrent of the Tamur and Ghunsa Rivers to their source on the north west side of the Kangchenjunga Himal, we emerge to another world. Dwarfed by an alpine grandeur in almost every direction, peaks such as; Pyramid Peak, Jannu, the Twins and of course Kangchenjunga (8586m) dominate the setting. It is no less dramatic on our southern traverse of the mountain on the return journey by way of the Mirgin La Pass (4500m). This is a challenging traverse through a region seldom visited in recent years.
Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel
Day 2: Pre-trip meeting and preparation day/ sightseeing on demand.
Day 3: Fly to Bhadrapur (91m) / 45 min. and jeep to Suketar (2,420m) 9h /or direct flight to Suketar depending on the availibility.
Day 4: Trek to Kande Bhanjyang (2,129m)
Day 5: Trek to Phumpe Danda (1,858m)
Day 6: Trek to Yamphudin (2,080m).
Day 7: Trek to Tortong (2995m).
Day 8: Trek to Cheram (3,870m).
Day 9: Excursion day to Yalung glacier / Kanchanjunga north base camp.
Day 10: Cheram – Selele pass (4,480m)- Ghunsa (3,427m)
Day 11: Acclimatization day at Ghunsa.
Day 12: Trek to Khambachen (4,050m).
Day 13: Trek to Lhonak (4,780m).
Day 14: Lhonak – Kanchanjunga south base camp (5,143m) and return to Khambachen
Day 15: Trek to Ghunsa (3,427m)
Day 16: Trek to Amjilosa (2,308m)
Day 17: Trek to Sukethum (1,576m)
Day 18: Sukethum – Taplejung –Bhadrapur en jeep 9hrs.
Day 19: Fly to Kathmandu 45 min.
Day 20: Departure (Or Extra visit day according to your stay)
